Elastomer bags function as protectors: the bag is positioned to separate the well fluid on the outside from the clean motor oil on the inside, while allowing the oil to expand and contract freely as the ESP motor heats up and cools down through its duty cycle.
The 562 series (5.62 in / 143 mm housing OD) is our largest protector format, used with higher-horsepower ESP motors where a greater oil expansion volume must be accommodated. Bags are available in AFLAS, HNBR or FFKM.
The 562 series carries the largest oil-expansion volume in our range. It is the format specified when a high-horsepower motor, a long cable run or a steep thermal cycle would otherwise push the bag beyond its design travel and allow well fluid to reach the motor oil.
