Wye-point connectors are used on all types of ESP (electric submersible pump) equipment. According to the working conditions we have many different types — with signal wire and without wire, in AFLAS and FKM material.
The wye-point is where the motor lead extension plugs into the ESP motor terminal block, and a moulded elastomer boot seals this connection to prevent well fluid ingress. Our connectors cover the main ESP motor series and are supplied in AFLAS (service temperature −10 to 220 °C) or FKM, with or without a pass-through for the instrumentation / signal wire.
The wye-point — the junction where the three motor lead phases are spliced to the power cable — is one of the most failure-prone points in an ESP installation. Moulding it in AFLAS keeps the splice sealed against well fluid and hot motor oil while resisting the electrical and thermal stress of continuous duty.
