Moulded from AFLAS (FEPM / tetrafluoroethylene-propylene copolymer) with a service temperature range of −20 to 250 °C. Mainly used in petroleum equipment, these O-rings give excellent oil resistance up to 250 °C together with excellent resistance to steam, sulphuric acid and hydrogen sulfide.
AFLAS is the standard O-ring compound used across ESP motors and protectors (including the 456 and 562 series) and is widely specified for downhole sealing wherever amine corrosion inhibitors, CO₂ and steam are present. We supply standard and custom sizes, including O-rings for protector seals, motor heads and potheads.
AFLAS (FEPM / TFE-P) is a tetrafluoroethylene-propylene copolymer, not a conventional fluoroelastomer. That chemistry gives it a combination no FKM can match: resistance to hot water and steam, to strong acids and alkalis, and to amines and H2S, with continuous service well above 200 °C. It is the default compound for ESP downhole sealing.
