Hydrogenated nitrile O-rings offer excellent oil resistance and resist hydrogen sulfide and LPG, which is why they are widely used in oilfield equipment. The working range spans −40 °C to 150 °C with high tensile strength, filling the gap between NBR, EPDM and FKM.
Hydrogenated nitrile fills the gap between NBR, EPDM and FKM. It keeps the oil resistance and mechanical strength of nitrile but adds heat, ozone, H2S and amine resistance, which is why it is so widely used in oilfield equipment where FFKM would be over-specified.
